Being an External Student with the University of London (Lead College LSE) is not only very prestigious but is opening up a whole new world of opportunities. The amazing St. Martin's lecturers and the wonderful friendships I have formed, give me the courage and determination to strive further in my chosen degree. Studying part-time is no joke, but the support we are constantly getting assures me that no challenge is impossible to overcome! |

Anton is one of those people who are born clutching a computer. Since childhood, Anton learnt how to use, program, repair and customise - in other words anything and everything to do with a computer. It was no wonder that Anton went straight into a job in a computer environment and never thought of a obtaining a degree, especially since none were available at the time. Time flew and he continued to learn through the ‘university of life’, until he got to know that the school, which he had attended for his ordinary and advanced computer science studies, had become a teaching institution of the University of London and was offering a degree in Computing and Information Systems on a part-time basis. Anton never looked back, and it was a predetermined bet that he would be a first class achiever. His grades were in the stratosphere throughout the course. No doubt, Anton will soon be working at a postgraduate qualification, probably in digital image processing and security, his pet subjects. |

I had registered to read the BSc (Hons) CIS with the University of London in early 1999, and embarked on self study in autumn that year. Procrastination really got the better of me. I had registered to read the BSc (Hons) CIS with the University of London in early 1999 and embarked on self study in the autumn of that year. After getting to know a Maltese contemporary of mine who was also attempting the degree, we decided to contact St Martin’s for assistance. Juggling work and other commitments with part-time studies was no joke. However, being in a classroom with fellow colleagues under the guidance of expert lecturers paid off as four years later I was walking up the stage to receive my first class honours from the Chancellor. |

The University of London programme offered all the pluses, and eliminated the minuses! It’s a reputable university offering exactly the same degree as that offered to its own students in London; the evening classroom sessions offered in Malta were of high quality; and a good group of colleagues studying for the same qualification offering the opportunity to network even locally |

Many a time I thought of giving up - until each September I received great results! Suddenly all the sacrifices were forgotten and I went into the consecutive year with renewed vigour and commitment. And now that it is over and I have achieved the top award from among international students, I feel really on top of the world - it was all worth the effort! Now I can relax even more knowing full well that I am backed with years of experience in my job, plus a qualification recognised everywhere in the world, no questions asked! |

To me this course provided a mixture of excellent tuition together with the flexibility to fit study time around my other commitments. Thanks to the University of London and St. Martin's Insitute of IT, I now have the job I always dreamed of. |

St. Martin's Institute was crucial for me in order to get my degree. As soon as I had finished school I started to work in the banking sector. Year after year I used to feel that I did not fulfill my ambition to read a degree which eventually I did in 2002. Reading a degree as part of a distance learning program is not an easy task as I had to juggle family, work and other commitments but with the institute I was able to plan a routine of study, which eventually helped me achieve two awards for academic achievement. |
